Win at Winning Over New Clients
Why do People Choose One Trainer Over Another?
When seeking a trainer, people look for expertise but, above all, they choose a trainer they feel comfortable with.

Win at Winning Over New Clients is a one-day, hands-on workshop that empowers you to take charge of your business, recruit more clients, manage difficult personalities and turn problems into win-win situations. This unique workshop provides a supportive atmosphere in which you can comfortably practice new skills and share experiences with your peers.
Joan Habschmidt M.A., M.F.T., 22-year studio owner, Personal Fitness Trainer and licensed Psychotherapist, applies the skills that counselors use to create therapeutic relationships to the fitness training business. You will actively practice these basic skills through lively discussions, role-playing and worksheet activities.
You will walk away with:
• A blueprint for recruiting new clients
• Guidelines for building long-term client relationships
• Communication skills for enforcing your policies (especially fees)
• Strategies for dealing with difficult clients
• Practical ways to resolve conflicts and problems that commonly arise
In the morning session, we will explore why people choose one trainer over another and how you can influence this important decision. You will learn how to:
• Make a connection with a new client
• Listen so clients feel heard and understood
• Meet client’s unspoken needs and fulfill their expectations
• Create a feeling of partnership so that clients choose you to be their trainer
After a one-hour lunch break, we will spend the afternoon exploring how to maintain positive trainer-client relationships and practice ways to deal with difficult personalities and situations. How you interact with clients (especially when problems arise) holds the key to their loyalty. You will learn how to:
• Build trust and mutual respect
• Establish clear boundaries
• “Read” clients and adjust to their needs
• Help clients carve out a space in which they can be themselves
• Manage your needs so that they do not adversely impact your clients
• Create win-win situations out of conflicts
